Right for Human Rights
On December 10, 1948 the Universal Declaration of Human Right was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly. Rights, which still do not apply equally for all human beings. For example for Roma and Sinti people, who represent Europe’s biggest minority.
On the occasion of the Human Rights Day on December 10 Josef Weidenholzer, President of Volkshilfe Austria and Member of the European Parliament, wants to point out the still alarming situation of Roma and Sinti people all over Europe.
“Roma and Sinti people still have to suffer poverty, discrimination, social exclusion and racists assaults everyday.”
Volkshilfe therefore calls for sanctions to improve the protection and integration of Roma and Sinti people in Europe.
