Adolescent Care and Therapy Centre OASIS
Psychosocial Programmes: Adolescent Care and Therapy Centre OASIS
The Psychosocial Programmes department has 2 large branches:
1. Caring for unaccompanied minor refugees
Unaccompanied, underage minors are children and adolescents who
- are younger than 18 years of age
- have fled to Austria without their parents or other family members
In Austria, the Jugendwohlfahrt – Youth Welfare – takes care of them instead of their parents until they are 18 years old.
Until then they are able to live in youth homes operated by Volkshilfe, where they are cared for by specialist personnel.
2. Therapy Centre OASIS
Both during war and in fleeing from it, people have often experienced very awful things. This can make people sick.
Refugees are given help at the therapy centre OASIS.
Here they can have therapy sessions with a psychologist.
