The Support for Asylum-Seekers department cares for people who are provided basic support benefits as asylum-seekers.
The social support provides primarily includes
- provision of information
- disbursement and management of benefits for clients
- consultation and assistance with legal, sociopolitical, and psychosocial questions
- initial steps after being granted asylum
- direction to authorities and social institutions
This support and consultation are provided in the consultation centres, in housing projects (homes), and in the regional offices (for individuals living on their own).
Volkshilfe’s Support for Asylum-Seekers also provides mobile care for refugees living in commercial accommodations.
