Living Projects for Refugees
What are living projects for refugees?
When people flee to Austria, they have a right to basic care.
Basic care for refugees is established by law.
Basic care means that the refugees have a place to live, are provided with food and get help, when they are ill.
In Upper Austria, the Volkshilfe Refugee and Migrant Support provides the basic care of refugees. The refugees are also called asylum seekers.
The Volkshilfe Refugee and Migrant Support provides living projects for asylum seekers in order to give them a place to live.
Moreover, there is support and advice for the refugees directly in the living projects.
For example, help with problems, questions about the law or help with which authorities and other social institutions to go to.
